# Get a section enrollment

Use this endpoint to read a section enrollment by the `{id}` you assigned when you created it, for example to confirm what's stored before an update or to reconcile a record with your SIS.

#### Notes

* **"Not found" is a 400.** `section enrollment with this id doesn't exist.` means no enrolled section has this `{id}`: it was removed, is only planned, or never existed.
* **Archived students' enrollments are returned too.** Check archive state with [`GET /student/{student_username}/state/`](/stellic-partner-api/student/read-a-student-s-current-archive-state.md) if it matters to your sync.
* **Check attributes after an update.** A successful section enrollment PUT or PATCH does not save supplied or inherited attribute changes, so this GET can still return the previous `attributes`. For changes, use [`PUT /planner/enrollment/course/{username}/{term_id}`](/stellic-partner-api/course-enrollments/replace-a-student-s-course-enrollments-for-a-term.md). Send the full set of course enrollments for the term and include the existing sections you want to retain for each course; omitted courses or sections can be removed. Check each course's entry in the response's `errors` list even if the PUT returns HTTP 200, then use this GET to verify `attributes`. When attribute inheritance is enabled, the course enrollment PUT merges catalog section attributes for non-transfer enrollments and base catalog course attributes for transfer credit into the submitted `attributes`. It does not inherit version-specific course attributes for transfer credit; include those you want to retain in `attributes`. To remove an inherited attribute, remove it from its catalog source, omit it from the enrollment payload, and resubmit the full term.
