# Export student tag definitions

Use this endpoint to export your institution's student tags, for example to check how tags are keyed before attaching them. Each row is one tag, not one student. The export takes no filters and always comes back in the response. It lists only the tags the account behind your token can see: restricted tags appear only if that account has been given access.

## GET /exports/student\_tags

```json
{"openapi":"3.0.0","info":{"title":"Stellic for Developers","version":"1.0"},"tags":[{"name":"Exports","description":"Institution-wide datasets as CSV or JSON. #### Columns
* `ID`: Stellic's ID for the tag.
* `Short Name`: the tag's SIS ID, the `{tag_sis_id}` on the student tag endpoints. A tag without one shows `None`.
* `Name`: the display name.
* `Types`: the tag's current types, pipe-separated (for example `audit|general`).
* `Archived`: `True` or `False`. Deleted tags aren't listed.
* `Students`: how many times the tag is attached to students, not counting test accounts. A student who has the tag both directly and through transfer credit is counted twice.
* `Student Sets`: how many student sets use the tag.
Rows are sorted by `Students`, then `Student Sets`, highest first. In JSON, every value is a string.
#### Notes
* **The token's account needs a Stellic role.** Without one, the call returns a 400 `StudentTagsFetcher requires the exporting role`.
